Tracing Our Tales is an award-winning paid art traineeship designed for care-experienced young people who want to build confidence, learn new art skills, and meet new people.

Led by a practising artist, this traineeship includes weekly workshops covering a range of art techniques. Trainees will also learn how to plan and deliver family workshops at the Foundling Museum, gaining valuable creative and facilitation experience.

Who can apply

You must:

  • Be aged 18 to 29

No previous art qualifications or experience are required – just an interest in creativity and a willingness to take part.

  • £45 paid for each workshop attended
  • Weekly sessions every Tuesday, 11am–3pm
  • Programme runs from February to July 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed)
